بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ وَٱلْعَٰدِيَٰتِ ضَبْحًا
By the runners, snorting. Both traditions take the runners as horses on a raid, and gloss the second word as the sound driven out of them as they run. The sura is named from this first oath.
اللہ تعالیٰ ”عادیات“ یعنی تیز دوڑنے والے گھوڑوں کی قسم کھاتا ہے۔ ”ضَبْح“ اُس سانس کی آواز کو کہتے ہیں جو تیز دوڑنے کی وجہ سے ان کے سینوں سے نکلتی ہے۔ یہ مجاہدین کے وہ گھوڑے ہیں جو انہیں لے کر اللہ کی راہ میں دوڑتے ہیں؛ ان کی قسم اُن کی اور اُس کام کی عظمت جتانے کے لیے کھائی گئی جس میں وہ کھپتے ہیں۔
