ٱلَّذِى جَمَعَ مَالًا وَعَدَّدَهُۥ
Who has gathered wealth and counted it over. Both traditions gloss the counting in two ways at once - telling it over again and again, and laying it up as a provision against whatever the years might bring.
”جس نے مال جمع کیا اور اسے گن گن کر رکھا“ — یعنی حرص کی وجہ سے بار بار اسے گنتا اور شمار کرتا ہے اور اسے زمانے کے حادثوں کے لیے ذخیرہ بنائے بیٹھا ہے۔ اس کی فکر جمع کرنے اور گننے کے سوا کچھ نہیں؛ وہ اسے بھلائی کے کسی راستے میں خرچ نہیں کرتا۔ قابلِ مذمت خود مال کا جمع کرنا نہیں، بلکہ اس کا حق روک لینا اور دل کا اسی میں لگ جانا ہے۔
