أَلَمْ يَجْعَلْ كَيْدَهُمْ فِى تَضْلِيلٍ
Did He not make their scheming go astray? Both traditions gloss the phrase with the same two words - a wasting and a bringing to nothing - and both say plainly what the scheme was: to pull down the House.
”کیا اس نے ان کی چال کو بےکار نہیں کر دیا؟“ یعنی اسے باطل، ضائع اور خسارے میں بدل دیا، اور انہوں نے جو منصوبہ بنایا تھا اس کا کوئی حصہ حاصل نہ کر سکے۔ ان کے اس عمل کو ”کید“ (چال) اس لیے کہا گیا کہ جو کینہ انہوں نے دل میں چھپا رکھا تھا، وہ اس سے کہیں زیادہ تھا جو انہوں نے ظاہر کیا۔ چنانچہ اللہ نے ان کی تدبیر انہی پر لوٹا دی اور ہلاک ہونے والے وہی ہوئے۔
