وَأَرْسَلَ عَلَيْهِمْ طَيْرًا أَبَابِيلَ
And He sent against them birds in flocks. Both traditions gloss the word as flock upon flock coming one behind another, and both note it is a plural with no singular of its own.
”اور اس نے ان پر پرندے بھیجے، غول در غول۔“ ”اَبَابِیل“ کے معنی ہیں پے در پے آنے والے جھنڈ، ایک کے پیچھے ایک۔ ”طَیْرًا“ کو نکرہ رکھنا ہولناکی اور ابہام کے لیے ہے۔ وہ ہر طرف سے آئے یہاں تک کہ انہیں گھیر لیا — اور آپ کے رب کے لشکروں کو اس کے سوا کوئی نہیں جانتا۔
