بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ لِإِيلَٰفِ قُرَيْشٍ
For the accustoming of Quraysh. Both traditions gloss the word as their being settled and safe in a habit, and read the opening as naming a favour done to them before it says anything about what they owe for it. The sura is named from the tribe.
”اِیْلَاف“ ”آلَفَ“ کا مصدر ہے، اور اس کے معنی ہیں کسی چیز کو لازم اور عادت بنا دینا یہاں تک کہ انسان اس کا خوگر ہو جائے اور اس کی مشقت جاتی رہے۔ معنی کے اعتبار سے فاعل اللہ تعالیٰ ہے اور مفعول قریش، یعنی: اُس اُلفت، امن اور حالات کی درستی کی وجہ سے جو اللہ نے ان کے لیے پیدا کر دی۔ یہ جملہ آگے آنے والے عبادت کے حکم سے جڑا ہوا ہے — پہلے نعمت کا ذکر ہے، پھر اس کے شکر کا مطالبہ۔
