فَصَلِّ لِرَبِّكَ وَٱنْحَرْ
So pray to your Lord and sacrifice. Both traditions take the two acts together as the thanks owed for what has just been given, and gloss the second as the offering killed and given away - the word being the one used for a camel, taken at the throat.
”پس اپنے رب کے لیے نماز پڑھیے اور قربانی کیجیے۔“ یعنی اس نعمت کا شکر یہ ادا کیجیے کہ اپنی نماز صرف اپنے رب کے لیے خالص کریں اور قربانی بھی اسی کے لیے اور اسی کے نام پر کریں، کسی اور کے لیے نہیں۔ انہی دو عبادتوں کا ذکر اس لیے کیا گیا کہ تقرب کے سب سے بڑے ذریعے یہی ہیں: نماز میں بدن کی عاجزی، اور قربانی میں محبوب مال کا خرچ کرنا۔ اور اس میں اُن لوگوں سے کھلی مفارقت بھی ہے جو غیر اللہ کے لیے ذبح کرتے تھے۔
