قَالَ يَٰقَوْمِ أَرَءَيْتُمْ إِن كُنتُ عَلَىٰ بَيِّنَةٍ مِّن رَّبِّى وَرَزَقَنِى مِنْهُ رِزْقًا حَسَنًا وَمَآ أُرِيدُ أَنْ أُخَالِفَكُمْ إِلَىٰ مَآ أَنْهَىٰكُمْ عَنْهُ إِنْ أُرِيدُ إِلَّا ٱلْإِصْلَٰحَ مَا ٱسْتَطَعْتُ وَمَا تَوْفِيقِىٓ إِلَّا بِٱللَّهِ عَلَيْهِ تَوَكَّلْتُ وَإِلَيْهِ أُنِيبُ
He said: my people, tell me, if I stand on a clear proof from my Lord, and He has provided me from Himself with a good provision, am I then to mix it with what is unlawful? I do not want to do behind your backs the very thing I forbid you. I want nothing but to set things right, as far as I am able. And my success rests with God alone. In Him I have put my trust, and to Him I turn.
اس نے کہا: اے میری قوم، مجھے بتاؤ اگر میں اپنے رب کی طرف سے واضح دلیل پر ہوں اور اس نے مجھے اپنی طرف سے اچھا رزق دیا ہو، اور میں نہیں چاہتا کہ جس چیز سے میں تمہیں روکتا ہوں اس کے خلاف خود عمل کروں، میں تو صرف اپنی طاقت بھر اصلاح چاہتا ہوں، اور میری کامیابی صرف اللہ ہی کی توفیق سے ہے، اسی پر میں نے بھروسا کیا اور اسی کی طرف رجوع کرتا ہوں۔
