بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ قُلْ أَعُوذُ بِرَبِّ ٱلنَّاسِ
Say: I take refuge with the Lord of people. Both traditions give the same reason why people are named here rather than all creation: what refuge is being taken from whispers into the breasts of people, so the name is matched to the danger. The sura is named from that word, which stands in it five times.
کہیے: میں انسانوں کے رب کی پناہ لیتا اور اسی کی آڑ پکڑتا ہوں — یعنی اُس کی جو ان کی پرورش کرتا، ان کے معاملات درست کرتا اور ان کی ابتدا ہی سے ان کا انتظام سنبھالتا ہے۔ یہاں خاص طور پر انسانوں کا ذکر ان کے شرف کے اظہار کے لیے ہے، اور موقع کی مناسبت سے بھی، کیونکہ وسوسہ انہی کے سینوں میں ڈالا جاتا ہے۔ چنانچہ پناہ کی ابتدا اُس نعمت سے کی گئی جسے بندہ سب سے پہلے پہچانتا ہے، یعنی ربوبیت۔
