وَهُوَ ٱلَّذِى مَدَّ ٱلْأَرْضَ وَجَعَلَ فِيهَا رَوَٰسِىَ وَأَنْهَٰرًا وَمِن كُلِّ ٱلثَّمَرَٰتِ جَعَلَ فِيهَا زَوْجَيْنِ ٱثْنَيْنِ يُغْشِى ٱلَّيْلَ ٱلنَّهَارَ إِنَّ فِى ذَٰلِكَ لَـَٔايَٰتٍ لِّقَوْمٍ يَتَفَكَّرُونَ
He is the One who spread the earth out, set firm mountains in it and made rivers run through it, and of every kind of fruit made two of a pair. He draws the night over the day so that each covers the other. The commentaries take the whole list as evidence offered to the mind rather than to the eye: signs for people who think.
وہی ہے جس نے زمین کو پھیلایا، اس میں مضبوط پہاڑ رکھے اور نہریں جاری کیں، اور ہر قسم کے پھل میں سے دو دو جوڑے بنائے۔ وہی رات کو دن پر ڈھانپ دیتا ہے تاکہ ایک دوسرے کو چھپا لے۔ مفسرین اس ساری فہرست کو آنکھ کے لیے نہیں بلکہ عقل کے لیے دلیل قرار دیتے ہیں: غور و فکر کرنے والوں کے لیے نشانیاں۔
