مَّثَلُ ٱلْجَنَّةِ ٱلَّتِى وُعِدَ ٱلْمُتَّقُونَ تَجْرِى مِن تَحْتِهَا ٱلْأَنْهَٰرُ أُكُلُهَا دَآئِمٌ وَظِلُّهَا تِلْكَ عُقْبَى ٱلَّذِينَ ٱتَّقَوا۟ وَّعُقْبَى ٱلْكَٰفِرِينَ ٱلنَّارُ
The likeness of the Garden promised to those who guard themselves: rivers run beneath it, its food never ends and neither does its shade. That is the end of those who guard themselves, and the end of those who refuse is the Fire. What the commentaries fix on is the word governing both halves — what is given does not run out, and the ending is a settlement rather than an episode.
اس جنت کی مثال جس کا وعدہ پرہیزگاروں سے کیا گیا ہے: اس کے نیچے نہریں بہتی ہیں، اس کا پھل ختم نہیں ہوتا اور نہ اس کا سایہ۔ یہ پرہیزگاروں کا انجام ہے، اور انکار کرنے والوں کا انجام آگ ہے۔ مفسرین جس لفظ پر توجہ دیتے ہیں وہ دونوں حصوں پر حکمران ہے: جو ملتا ہے وہ ختم نہیں ہوتا، اور یہ انجام ایک واقعہ نہیں بلکہ ایک مستقل فیصلہ ہے۔
