يَمْحُوا۟ ٱللَّهُ مَا يَشَآءُ وَيُثْبِتُ وَعِندَهُۥٓ أُمُّ ٱلْكِتَٰبِ
God erases what He wills and He confirms what He wills, and with Him is the Mother of the Book. The commentaries of both traditions hold the two halves together: what is written can be erased and replaced, while the original that is with Him does not change.
اللہ جو چاہے مٹا دیتا ہے اور جو چاہے ثابت رکھتا ہے، اور اسی کے پاس ام الکتاب ہے۔ دونوں روایتوں کی تفاسیر ان دونوں حصوں کو ملا کر رکھتی ہیں: جو لکھا جاتا ہے وہ مٹایا اور بدلا جا سکتا ہے، جبکہ اصل نسخہ جو اس کے پاس ہے وہ نہیں بدلتا۔
