يَتَجَرَّعُهُۥ وَلَا يَكَادُ يُسِيغُهُۥ وَيَأْتِيهِ ٱلْمَوْتُ مِن كُلِّ مَكَانٍ وَمَا هُوَ بِمَيِّتٍ وَمِن وَرَآئِهِۦ عَذَابٌ غَلِيظٌ
He gulps it down and can barely swallow it, and death comes at him from every side and yet he does not die, and ahead of him is a harsh punishment. The commentaries read death coming from every side as the causes of death arriving without the release that death would be.
وہ اسے گھونٹ گھونٹ پیتا ہے اور بمشکل نگل پاتا ہے، اور موت اسے ہر طرف سے آتی ہے مگر وہ مرتا نہیں، اور اس کے آگے ایک سخت عذاب ہے۔ مفسرین ہر طرف سے موت کے آنے کو یوں پڑھتے ہیں کہ موت کے تمام اسباب اس تک پہنچتے ہیں مگر وہ راحت جو موت لاتی ہے اسے نہیں ملتی۔
