وَإِذْ قَالَ إِبْرَٰهِيمُ رَبِّ ٱجْعَلْ هَٰذَا ٱلْبَلَدَ ءَامِنًا وَٱجْنُبْنِى وَبَنِىَّ أَن نَّعْبُدَ ٱلْأَصْنَامَ
And when Abraham said: my Lord, make this land safe, and keep me and my sons from serving idols. The commentaries record that the first half of the prayer was answered — the land was made a sanctuary — and the whole supplication that follows is his, spoken as a father.
اور جب ابراہیم نے کہا: میرے رب، اس شہر کو امن والا بنا دے، اور مجھے اور میرے بیٹوں کو بتوں کی پوجا سے بچا۔ مفسرین بیان کرتے ہیں کہ دعا کا پہلا حصہ قبول ہوا — شہر کو حرم بنا دیا گیا — اور اس کے بعد کی ساری دعا انہی کی ہے، ایک باپ کے طور پر کہی گئی۔
