أَلَمْ يَأْتِكُمْ نَبَؤُا۟ ٱلَّذِينَ مِن قَبْلِكُمْ قَوْمِ نُوحٍ وَعَادٍ وَثَمُودَ وَٱلَّذِينَ مِنۢ بَعْدِهِمْ لَا يَعْلَمُهُمْ إِلَّا ٱللَّهُ جَآءَتْهُمْ رُسُلُهُم بِٱلْبَيِّنَٰتِ فَرَدُّوٓا۟ أَيْدِيَهُمْ فِىٓ أَفْوَٰهِهِمْ وَقَالُوٓا۟ إِنَّا كَفَرْنَا بِمَآ أُرْسِلْتُم بِهِۦ وَإِنَّا لَفِى شَكٍّ مِّمَّا تَدْعُونَنَآ إِلَيْهِ مُرِيبٍ
Has the account of those before you not reached you — the people of Noah, and ʿĀd, and Thamūd, and those after them whom none knows but God? Their messengers came to them with clear proofs, and they gave the same answer every time: we refuse what you have been sent with, and we are in disquieting doubt about what you call us to.
کیا تمہیں ان لوگوں کی خبر نہیں پہنچی جو تم سے پہلے تھے — قوم نوح، اور عاد، اور ثمود، اور جو ان کے بعد آئے جنہیں اللہ کے سوا کوئی نہیں جانتا؟ ان کے رسول ان کے پاس واضح دلیلیں لے کر آئے، اور انہوں نے ہر بار وہی جواب دیا: ہم اس چیز کا انکار کرتے ہیں جو تمہیں دے کر بھیجا گیا، اور ہم اس بارے میں جس کی طرف تم ہمیں بلاتے ہو بے چین کر دینے والے شک میں ہیں۔
