إِلَّا مَنِ ٱسْتَرَقَ ٱلسَّمْعَ فَأَتْبَعَهُۥ شِهَابٌ مُّبِينٌ
except one who steals a hearing, and then a clear flame pursues him. The commentaries gloss the flame as a burning star, and read the pair of āyāt together: what is above is not open to be entered and carried off.
