إِنَّا نَحْنُ نَزَّلْنَا ٱلذِّكْرَ وَإِنَّا لَهُۥ لَحَٰفِظُونَ
It is We who have sent down the Reminder, and it is We who guard it. Both traditions read the guarding as guarding the text — against substitution, against alteration, against anything added and anything lost. The sentence is built so that the same One does both: the sending down and the keeping.
