وَلَقَدْ نَعْلَمُ أَنَّكَ يَضِيقُ صَدْرُكَ بِمَا يَقُولُونَ
And We know that your breast is tightened by what they say. The commentaries gloss what they say as the mockery and the denial, and note that the āyah states the fact plainly before anything is offered for it.
