شَاكِرًا لِّأَنْعُمِهِ ٱجْتَبَىٰهُ وَهَدَىٰهُ إِلَىٰ صِرَٰطٍ مُّسْتَقِيمٍ
Thankful for His favours. He chose him and guided him to a straight path — the commentaries gloss the choosing as a selecting out, and place the thankfulness first, as what he brought to it.
اپنی نعمتوں پر شکر ادا کرنے والے، اللہ نے اسے چن لیا اور اسے سیدھی راہ کی طرف ہدایت دی۔ مفسرین اس چناؤ کو خاص طور پر منتخب کیے جانے کے معنی میں لیتے ہیں، اور یہاں شکر گزاری کا ذکر پہلے کیا گیا ہے۔
