وَمِن ثَمَرَٰتِ ٱلنَّخِيلِ وَٱلْأَعْنَٰبِ تَتَّخِذُونَ مِنْهُ سَكَرًا وَرِزْقًا حَسَنًا إِنَّ فِى ذَٰلِكَ لَـَٔايَةً لِّقَوْمٍ يَعْقِلُونَ
And from the fruits of date-palms and vines you take an intoxicant and a good provision. In that is a sign for people who use their reason. The commentaries note that this was said before the prohibition came, and that the āyah itself already sets the two apart by naming only one of them good.
اور کھجوروں اور انگوروں کے پھلوں سے تم نشہ آور چیز بھی بناتے ہو اور اچھا رزق بھی، بے شک اس میں عقل والوں کے لیے ایک نشانی ہے۔ مفسرین بتاتے ہیں کہ یہ حرمت سے پہلے کہی گئی بات ہے، اور آیت خود ہی ان دونوں میں فرق کرتی ہے کیونکہ صرف ایک کو اچھا کہا گیا۔
