فَلَا تَضْرِبُوا۟ لِلَّهِ ٱلْأَمْثَالَ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ يَعْلَمُ وَأَنتُمْ لَا تَعْلَمُونَ
So do not strike likenesses for God. God knows, and you do not know — the commentaries gloss what He knows here as the one thing at issue: that there is nothing like Him for a likeness to be drawn from.
