يَعْرِفُونَ نِعْمَتَ ٱللَّهِ ثُمَّ يُنكِرُونَهَا وَأَكْثَرُهُمُ ٱلْكَٰفِرُونَ
They recognise God's favour and then deny it, and most of them are ungrateful. The commentaries note that the recognising comes first: what is described is not ignorance but refusal after knowing.
وہ اللہ کی نعمت کو پہچانتے ہیں، پھر بھی اس کا انکار کرتے ہیں، اور ان میں سے اکثر ناشکرے ہیں۔ مفسرین توجہ دلاتے ہیں کہ پہلے پہچان کا ذکر ہے: یہ جہالت نہیں بلکہ جان بوجھ کر کیا گیا انکار ہے۔
