وَإِذَآ أَرَدْنَآ أَن نُّهْلِكَ قَرْيَةً أَمَرْنَا مُتْرَفِيهَا فَفَسَقُوا۟ فِيهَا فَحَقَّ عَلَيْهَا ٱلْقَوْلُ فَدَمَّرْنَٰهَا تَدْمِيرًا
And when We intend to destroy a town, We command those in it who live in ease, and they defy in it, and the word falls due against it, and We destroy it utterly. The commentaries note whom the command reaches first: those with the most to lose.
اور جب ہم کسی بستی کو ہلاک کرنے کا ارادہ کرتے ہیں تو اس کے خوشحال لوگوں کو حکم دیتے ہیں، پھر وہ اس میں نافرمانی کرتے ہیں، تو اس پر بات ثابت ہو جاتی ہے، اور ہم اسے پوری طرح تباہ کر دیتے ہیں۔ مفسرین نے بتایا ہے کہ یہ حکم سب سے پہلے انہی لوگوں تک پہنچتا ہے جن کے پاس کھونے کے لیے سب سے زیادہ ہوتا ہے۔
