وَقَضَىٰ رَبُّكَ أَلَّا تَعْبُدُوٓا۟ إِلَّآ إِيَّاهُ وَبِٱلْوَٰلِدَيْنِ إِحْسَٰنًا إِمَّا يَبْلُغَنَّ عِندَكَ ٱلْكِبَرَ أَحَدُهُمَآ أَوْ كِلَاهُمَا فَلَا تَقُل لَّهُمَآ أُفٍّ وَلَا تَنْهَرْهُمَا وَقُل لَّهُمَا قَوْلًا كَرِيمًا
And your Lord has decreed that you serve none but Him, and that you be good to parents. If one or both of them reach old age with you, do not say to them a word of contempt, and do not push them away, and speak to them a gracious word. The commentaries note what is forbidden first: not striking or refusing, but the smallest sound of impatience.
اور تمہارے رب نے فیصلہ کر دیا ہے کہ اس کے سوا کسی کی عبادت نہ کرو، اور والدین کے ساتھ اچھا سلوک کرو۔ اگر ان میں سے ایک یا دونوں تمہارے پاس بڑھاپے کو پہنچ جائیں تو انہیں اُف تک نہ کہو اور نہ انہیں جھڑکو، بلکہ ان سے نرم اور باعزت بات کرو۔ مفسرین نے بتایا ہے کہ سب سے پہلے جس چیز سے روکا گیا وہ مارنا یا صاف انکار کرنا نہیں بلکہ ناگواری کی سب سے چھوٹی سی آواز بھی ہے۔
