ٱنظُرْ كَيْفَ ضَرَبُوا۟ لَكَ ٱلْأَمْثَالَ فَضَلُّوا۟ فَلَا يَسْتَطِيعُونَ سَبِيلًا
See what likenesses they strike for you — so they have gone astray and cannot find a way. The commentaries note that the charges they brought contradicted each other, which is what the wandering describes.
