قُل لَّوْ كَانَ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ مَلَٰٓئِكَةٌ يَمْشُونَ مُطْمَئِنِّينَ لَنَزَّلْنَا عَلَيْهِم مِّنَ ٱلسَّمَآءِ مَلَكًا رَّسُولًا
Say: if there were angels walking about settled on the earth, We would have sent down to them from the sky an angel as a messenger. The commentaries take the principle to be that a messenger is sent of the same kind as those he is sent to.
کہہ دیجیے: اگر زمین پر فرشتے اطمینان سے چلتے پھرتے ہوتے تو ہم ان کی طرف آسمان سے ایک فرشتے ہی کو رسول بنا کر بھیجتے۔ مفسرین اس اصول کو یوں بیان کرتے ہیں کہ رسول ہمیشہ اسی جنس میں سے بھیجا جاتا ہے جس کی طرف اسے بھیجا جا رہا ہو۔
