إِلَّآ أَن يَشَآءَ ٱللَّهُ وَٱذْكُر رَّبَّكَ إِذَا نَسِيتَ وَقُلْ عَسَىٰٓ أَن يَهْدِيَنِ رَبِّى لِأَقْرَبَ مِنْ هَٰذَا رَشَدًا
except: if God wills. And remember your Lord when you forget, and say: it may be that my Lord will guide me to something nearer than this in right direction. The commentaries take the exception as the whole point: a plan for tomorrow is stated with the will of God attached, since tomorrow is not ours to promise.
سوائے اس کے کہ اللہ چاہے۔ اور جب آپ بھول جائیں تو اپنے رب کو یاد کریں، اور کہیں: امید ہے کہ میرا رب مجھے اس سے بھی زیادہ سیدھی راہ کی طرف ہدایت دے دے۔ مفسرین اس استثنا کو ہی پوری بات کا خلاصہ سمجھتے ہیں: کل کا کوئی منصوبہ اللہ کی چاہت کے ساتھ ہی بیان کیا جاتا ہے، کیونکہ کل ہمارے اختیار میں نہیں۔
