حَتَّىٰٓ إِذَا بَلَغَ مَغْرِبَ ٱلشَّمْسِ وَجَدَهَا تَغْرُبُ فِى عَيْنٍ حَمِئَةٍ وَوَجَدَ عِندَهَا قَوْمًا قُلْنَا يَٰذَا ٱلْقَرْنَيْنِ إِمَّآ أَن تُعَذِّبَ وَإِمَّآ أَن تَتَّخِذَ فِيهِمْ حُسْنًا
Until when he reached the setting of the sun, he found it setting in a spring of dark mud, and found a people there. We said: you of the Two Horns, either you punish, or you take a good way with them.
یہاں تک کہ جب وہ سورج ڈوبنے کی جگہ پر پہنچا تو اس نے اسے ایک کیچڑ بھری چشمے میں ڈوبتا ہوا پایا، اور اس کے پاس ایک قوم کو بھی پایا۔ ہم نے کہا: اے ذوالقرنین، تو چاہے انہیں سزا دے یا ان کے ساتھ اچھا سلوک اختیار کرے۔
