وَحَنَانًا مِّن لَّدُنَّا وَزَكَوٰةً وَكَانَ تَقِيًّا
And tenderness from Us, and purity. And he guarded himself — three things given in one breath, and the commentaries note that the first two are named as gifts before the third is named as his own doing.
