أَسْمِعْ بِهِمْ وَأَبْصِرْ يَوْمَ يَأْتُونَنَا لَٰكِنِ ٱلظَّٰلِمُونَ ٱلْيَوْمَ فِى ضَلَٰلٍ مُّبِينٍ
How well they will hear and how well they will see on the Day they come to Us — but the wrongdoers today are in plain error. The commentaries note the reversal: the hearing and sight arrive exactly when they are of no more use.
وہ اس دن کتنا اچھا سنیں گے اور کتنا اچھا دیکھیں گے جس دن وہ ہمارے پاس آئیں گے، مگر ظالم لوگ آج کھلی گمراہی میں پڑے ہوئے ہیں۔ مفسرین اس الٹ پھیر پر توجہ دلاتے ہیں: سننا اور دیکھنا عین اسی وقت آتا ہے جب اس کا کوئی فائدہ باقی نہیں رہتا۔
