فَخَلَفَ مِنۢ بَعْدِهِمْ خَلْفٌ أَضَاعُوا۟ ٱلصَّلَوٰةَ وَٱتَّبَعُوا۟ ٱلشَّهَوَٰتِ فَسَوْفَ يَلْقَوْنَ غَيًّا
Then after them there came others who let the prayer go to waste and followed their appetites — and they will meet with ruin. The commentaries take the two together as one description: what was let go, and what was followed instead.
پھر ان کے بعد ایسے لوگ آ گئے جنہوں نے نماز کو ضائع کر دیا اور خواہشات کی پیروی کی، تو عنقریب وہ ہلاکت اور گمراہی سے دوچار ہوں گے۔ مفسرین ان دونوں باتوں کو ایک ہی بیان سمجھتے ہیں: جو چیز چھوڑ دی گئی، اور جس چیز کی پیروی اس کی جگہ کی گئی۔
