رَّبُّ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَا فَٱعْبُدْهُ وَٱصْطَبِرْ لِعِبَٰدَتِهِۦ هَلْ تَعْلَمُ لَهُۥ سَمِيًّا
Lord of the heavens and the earth and what is between them, so serve Him and hold fast in serving Him. Do you know anyone who can be named alongside Him? The commentaries take the closing question as the whole argument: nothing else bears the name.
وہی آسمانوں اور زمین کا اور جو کچھ ان کے درمیان ہے اس کا رب ہے، پس اسی کی عبادت کیجیے اور اس کی عبادت پر ثابت قدم رہیے۔ کیا آپ اس کے ہم نام کسی کو جانتے ہیں؟ مفسرین اس آخری سوال کو ہی پوری دلیل سمجھتے ہیں: اس کا یہ نام کسی اور چیز پر لاگو نہیں ہوتا۔
