وَمَا يَنۢبَغِى لِلرَّحْمَٰنِ أَن يَتَّخِذَ وَلَدًا
And it is not for the Compassionate to take a son — the commentaries gloss it as not being fitting for Him, so the denial is made from what He is rather than from what is possible.
اور رحمن کے لیے یہ زیبا ہی نہیں کہ وہ کسی کو بیٹا بنائے۔ مفسرین اسے اس بنیاد پر بیان کرتے ہیں کہ یہ اس کی ذات کے لائق نہیں، لہٰذا یہ انکار اس چیز سے کیا جا رہا ہے جو وہ ہے، نہ اس سے جو ممکن ہو سکتا ہے۔
