وَلَن تَرْضَىٰ عَنكَ ٱلْيَهُودُ وَلَا ٱلنَّصَٰرَىٰ حَتَّىٰ تَتَّبِعَ مِلَّتَهُمْ قُلْ إِنَّ هُدَى ٱللَّهِ هُوَ ٱلْهُدَىٰ وَلَئِنِ ٱتَّبَعْتَ أَهْوَآءَهُم بَعْدَ ٱلَّذِى جَآءَكَ مِنَ ٱلْعِلْمِ مَا لَكَ مِنَ ٱللَّهِ مِن وَلِىٍّ وَلَا نَصِيرٍ
And the Jews will never be pleased with you, nor the Christians, until you follow their way. Say: God's guidance is the guidance. And if you were to follow their desires after the knowledge that has come to you, you would have against God no protector and no helper. What is ruled out is buying peace by moving the message.
اور یہود اور نصاریٰ آپ سے ہرگز راضی نہ ہوں گے جب تک آپ ان کے مذہب کی پیروی نہ کریں۔ کہہ دیجیے: بےشک اللہ کی ہدایت ہی اصل ہدایت ہے۔ اور اگر آپ نے، اس علم کے بعد جو آپ کے پاس آ چکا ہے، ان کی خواہشات کی پیروی کی تو اللہ کے مقابلے میں آپ کا نہ کوئی حامی ہوگا اور نہ کوئی مددگار۔ جس چیز کو یہاں مسترد کیا گیا ہے وہ یہ ہے کہ پیغام کو موڑ کر امن خریدا جائے۔
