يَٰبَنِىٓ إِسْرَٰٓءِيلَ ٱذْكُرُوا۟ نِعْمَتِىَ ٱلَّتِىٓ أَنْعَمْتُ عَلَيْكُمْ وَأَنِّى فَضَّلْتُكُمْ عَلَى ٱلْعَٰلَمِينَ
Children of Israel, remember the favour I bestowed on you, and that I preferred you above the worlds. The reminder is repeated word for word, and it is repeated because what follows it now is the turning of the story toward Abraham.
اے بنی اسرائیل! میری وہ نعمت یاد کرو جو میں نے تم پر کی، اور یہ کہ میں نے تمہیں جہانوں پر فضیلت دی۔ یہ یاد دہانی لفظ بہ لفظ دہرائی گئی ہے، اور اس کا دہرایا جانا اس لیے ہے کہ اس کے بعد قصہ اب ابراہیم کی طرف مڑنے والا ہے۔
