وَإِذْ قَالَ إِبْرَٰهِـۧمُ رَبِّ ٱجْعَلْ هَٰذَا بَلَدًا ءَامِنًا وَٱرْزُقْ أَهْلَهُۥ مِنَ ٱلثَّمَرَٰتِ مَنْ ءَامَنَ مِنْهُم بِٱللَّهِ وَٱلْيَوْمِ ٱلْـَٔاخِرِ قَالَ وَمَن كَفَرَ فَأُمَتِّعُهُۥ قَلِيلًا ثُمَّ أَضْطَرُّهُۥٓ إِلَىٰ عَذَابِ ٱلنَّارِ وَبِئْسَ ٱلْمَصِيرُ
And when Abraham said, 'My Lord, make this a secure town, and provide its people with fruits - those of them who believe in God and the Last Day.' He said, 'And whoever refuses, I shall let him enjoy himself a little, then drive him to the punishment of the Fire - and how wretched a destination.' He asked for the believers only, and the answer widened the provision in this world while narrowing nothing in the next.
اور یاد کرو جب ابراہیم نے کہا: 'میرے رب، اسے ایک امن والا شہر بنا دے، اور اس کے رہنے والوں کو، جو ان میں سے اللہ اور یومِ آخرت پر ایمان لائیں، پھلوں کا رزق دے۔' اللہ نے فرمایا: 'اور جو کفر کرے، اسے میں تھوڑا سا فائدہ اٹھانے دوں گا، پھر اسے آگ کے عذاب کی طرف مجبور کر دوں گا، اور وہ بہت برا ٹھکانا ہے۔' اس نے صرف مومنوں کے لیے دعا کی تھی، اور جواب نے اس دنیا میں رزق کو وسیع کر دیا جبکہ اگلی زندگی میں کچھ بھی تنگ نہیں کیا۔
