وَقَالُوا۟ كُونُوا۟ هُودًا أَوْ نَصَٰرَىٰ تَهْتَدُوا۟ قُلْ بَلْ مِلَّةَ إِبْرَٰهِـۧمَ حَنِيفًا وَمَا كَانَ مِنَ ٱلْمُشْرِكِينَ
And they say, 'Be Jews' - or 'Christians' - 'and you will be guided.' Say: rather, the way of Abraham, who turned away from everything else towards the one God; and he was not among those who set up partners. The answer reaches back past both claims to the man both of them claim.
اور وہ کہتے ہیں: 'یہودی بن جاؤ' — یا 'نصرانی بن جاؤ' — 'تو ہدایت پا جاؤ گے۔' کہہ دیجیے: بلکہ ملتِ ابراہیم، جو یکسو تھا، اور وہ مشرکوں میں سے نہیں تھا۔ جواب دونوں دعوؤں سے آگے نکل کر اس شخص کی طرف جاتا ہے جس پر دونوں فریق دعویٰ کرتے ہیں۔
