تِلْكَ أُمَّةٌ قَدْ خَلَتْ لَهَا مَا كَسَبَتْ وَلَكُم مَّا كَسَبْتُمْ وَلَا تُسْـَٔلُونَ عَمَّا كَانُوا۟ يَعْمَلُونَ
That is a community that has passed away. Theirs is what they earned, and yours is what you earn, and you will not be asked about what they used to do. It is said a second time, now against the claim on Abraham rather than the claim on Moses.
وہ ایک امت تھی جو گزر چکی، اس کے لیے وہی ہے جو اس نے کمایا اور تمہارے لیے وہی ہے جو تم کماؤ گے، اور تم سے یہ نہیں پوچھا جائے گا کہ وہ کیا کرتے تھے۔ یہ بات دوسری بار دہرائی گئی ہے، اب موسیٰ کے دعوے کے بجائے ابراہیم پر کیے گئے دعوے کے خلاف۔
