إِلَّا ٱلَّذِينَ تَابُوا۟ وَأَصْلَحُوا۟ وَبَيَّنُوا۟ فَأُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ أَتُوبُ عَلَيْهِمْ وَأَنَا ٱلتَّوَّابُ ٱلرَّحِيمُ
Except those who repent and put right and make clear - those I turn to, and I am the One who ever turns in forgiveness, the Merciful. Three things are asked, and the third matches the offence exactly: what was hidden has to be brought out, because regret alone leaves it hidden.
سوائے ان لوگوں کے جنہوں نے توبہ کی اور اصلاح کی اور بیان کر دیا — تو یہی وہ لوگ ہیں جن کی توبہ میں قبول کرتا ہوں، اور میں ہی بہت توبہ قبول کرنے والا، نہایت رحم کرنے والا ہوں۔ تین چیزوں کا مطالبہ کیا گیا ہے، اور تیسری بالکل اسی جرم کے مطابق ہے: جو چیز چھپائی گئی تھی اسے باہر لانا ہوگا، کیونکہ محض پچھتاوا اسے چھپا ہوا ہی چھوڑ دیتا ہے۔
