إِنَّمَا حَرَّمَ عَلَيْكُمُ ٱلْمَيْتَةَ وَٱلدَّمَ وَلَحْمَ ٱلْخِنزِيرِ وَمَآ أُهِلَّ بِهِۦ لِغَيْرِ ٱللَّهِ فَمَنِ ٱضْطُرَّ غَيْرَ بَاغٍ وَلَا عَادٍ فَلَآ إِثْمَ عَلَيْهِ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ غَفُورٌ رَّحِيمٌ
He has only forbidden you carrion, and blood, and the flesh of swine, and what has been dedicated to other than God. But whoever is driven to it, neither craving it nor going beyond need, is not sinning. Truly God is Forgiving, Merciful. The word 'only' is doing work: against a long list of things people had forbidden themselves, the forbidden list is short.
