وَقَٰتِلُوهُمْ حَتَّىٰ لَا تَكُونَ فِتْنَةٌ وَيَكُونَ ٱلدِّينُ لِلَّهِ فَإِنِ ٱنتَهَوْا۟ فَلَا عُدْوَٰنَ إِلَّا عَلَى ٱلظَّٰلِمِينَ
And fight them until there is no persecution and religion is for God. But if they stop, then there is to be no hostility except against wrongdoers. An end point is named, and anything after that end point is itself the aggression the passage forbids.
اور ان سے لڑو یہاں تک کہ فتنہ باقی نہ رہے اور دین صرف اللہ کے لیے ہو جائے۔ پھر اگر وہ باز آ جائیں تو ظالموں کے سوا کسی پر زیادتی نہ کی جائے۔ ایک اختتامی نقطہ بتا دیا گیا ہے، اور اس نقطے کے بعد کچھ بھی کرنا خود وہی زیادتی ہے جس سے یہ آیت منع کرتی ہے۔
