يَكَادُ ٱلْبَرْقُ يَخْطَفُ أَبْصَٰرَهُمْ كُلَّمَآ أَضَآءَ لَهُم مَّشَوْا۟ فِيهِ وَإِذَآ أَظْلَمَ عَلَيْهِمْ قَامُوا۟ وَلَوْ شَآءَ ٱللَّهُ لَذَهَبَ بِسَمْعِهِمْ وَأَبْصَٰرِهِمْ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَىْءٍ قَدِيرٌ
The lightning all but snatches their sight away. Whenever it gives them light they walk on in it, and when it goes dark over them they stand still. This is the picture of what the Qur'an's proofs do to them: they move while a flash of it convinces them and freeze when it passes. And had God willed He would have taken their hearing and their sight; God has power over everything.
بجلی ان کی نظر تقریباً اچک لے جاتی ہے۔ جب بھی وہ ان کے لیے روشنی کرتی ہے وہ اس میں چل پڑتے ہیں، اور جب ان پر اندھیرا چھا جاتا ہے تو رک جاتے ہیں۔ یہی وہ تصویر ہے کہ قرآن کے دلائل ان پر کیا اثر ڈالتے ہیں: جب کوئی چمک انہیں قائل کر دے تو وہ آگے بڑھتے ہیں، اور جب وہ گزر جائے تو رک جاتے ہیں۔ اور اگر اللہ چاہتا تو ان کی سماعت اور بصارت چھین لیتا؛ بےشک اللہ ہر چیز پر پوری قدرت رکھتا ہے۔
