يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلنَّاسُ ٱعْبُدُوا۟ رَبَّكُمُ ٱلَّذِى خَلَقَكُمْ وَٱلَّذِينَ مِن قَبْلِكُمْ لَعَلَّكُمْ تَتَّقُونَ
O mankind, worship your Lord - devote worship to Him alone - the One who created you and those who came before you, so that you may guard yourselves against what harms you. This is the first command in the surah, and it is addressed to everyone.
اے لوگو! اپنے رب کی عبادت کرو — یعنی عبادت صرف اسی کے لیے خاص کر دو — جس نے تمہیں اور تم سے پہلے والوں کو پیدا کیا، تاکہ تم اپنے آپ کو نقصان دہ چیزوں سے بچا سکو۔ یہ اس سورت کا پہلا حکم ہے، اور یہ ہر انسان سے خطاب ہے۔
