يَسْـَٔلُونَكَ عَنِ ٱلشَّهْرِ ٱلْحَرَامِ قِتَالٍ فِيهِ قُلْ قِتَالٌ فِيهِ كَبِيرٌ وَصَدٌّ عَن سَبِيلِ ٱللَّهِ وَكُفْرٌۢ بِهِۦ وَٱلْمَسْجِدِ ٱلْحَرَامِ وَإِخْرَاجُ أَهْلِهِۦ مِنْهُ أَكْبَرُ عِندَ ٱللَّهِ وَٱلْفِتْنَةُ أَكْبَرُ مِنَ ٱلْقَتْلِ وَلَا يَزَالُونَ يُقَٰتِلُونَكُمْ حَتَّىٰ يَرُدُّوكُمْ عَن دِينِكُمْ إِنِ ٱسْتَطَٰعُوا۟ وَمَن يَرْتَدِدْ مِنكُمْ عَن دِينِهِۦ فَيَمُتْ وَهُوَ كَافِرٌ فَأُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ حَبِطَتْ أَعْمَٰلُهُمْ فِى ٱلدُّنْيَا وَٱلْـَٔاخِرَةِ وَأُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ أَصْحَٰبُ ٱلنَّارِ هُمْ فِيهَا خَٰلِدُونَ
They ask you about fighting in the sacred month. Say: fighting in it is a grave thing - but barring people from the way of God, and refusing Him, and barring people from the Sacred Mosque, and driving out its people from it, is graver with God; and persecution is graver than killing. And they will not stop fighting you until they turn you back from your religion, if they can. The charge is not denied; it is weighed against what the accusers were already doing.
لوگ آپ سے حرمت والے مہینے میں لڑنے کے بارے میں پوچھتے ہیں۔ کہہ دیجیے: اس میں لڑنا بہت بڑی بات ہے — لیکن اللہ کی راہ سے روکنا، اس کا انکار کرنا، مسجدِ حرام سے روکنا، اور اس کے رہنے والوں کو وہاں سے نکالنا، اللہ کے نزدیک اس سے بھی بڑا ہے؛ اور فتنہ قتل سے بڑا ہے۔ اور وہ تم سے لڑتے رہیں گے یہاں تک کہ اگر ان کے بس میں ہو تو تمہیں تمہارے دین سے پھیر دیں۔ الزام کو رد نہیں کیا گیا؛ اسے اس چیز کے مقابلے میں تولا گیا ہے جو الزام لگانے والے پہلے سے کر رہے تھے۔
