فِى ٱلدُّنْيَا وَٱلْـَٔاخِرَةِ وَيَسْـَٔلُونَكَ عَنِ ٱلْيَتَٰمَىٰ قُلْ إِصْلَاحٌ لَّهُمْ خَيْرٌ وَإِن تُخَالِطُوهُمْ فَإِخْوَٰنُكُمْ وَٱللَّهُ يَعْلَمُ ٱلْمُفْسِدَ مِنَ ٱلْمُصْلِحِ وَلَوْ شَآءَ ٱللَّهُ لَأَعْنَتَكُمْ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ عَزِيزٌ حَكِيمٌ
On this world and the hereafter. And they ask you about orphans. Say: setting their affairs right is best. And if you mix your affairs with theirs, they are your brothers - and God knows the one who spoils from the one who sets right. And had God willed, He could have made it hard for you; truly God is Mighty, Wise. People had separated the orphans' food entirely for fear of wronging them, and the answer is that the test is the intention, not the separation.
دنیا اور آخرت کے بارے میں۔ اور لوگ آپ سے یتیموں کے بارے میں پوچھتے ہیں۔ کہہ دیجیے: ان کے معاملات درست رکھنا بہتر ہے۔ اور اگر تم اپنے معاملات ان کے ساتھ ملا لو تو وہ تمہارے بھائی ہیں — اور اللہ فساد کرنے والے کو اصلاح کرنے والے سے الگ پہچانتا ہے۔ اور اگر اللہ چاہتا تو تمہیں مشکل میں ڈال دیتا؛ بےشک اللہ زبردست، حکمت والا ہے۔ لوگوں نے یتیموں کی خوراک کو مکمل طور پر الگ کر رکھا تھا، اس ڈر سے کہ کہیں ان پر ظلم نہ ہو، اور جواب یہ ہے کہ اصل امتحان نیت ہے، الگ کرنا نہیں۔
