وَلَا تَجْعَلُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ عُرْضَةً لِّأَيْمَٰنِكُمْ أَن تَبَرُّوا۟ وَتَتَّقُوا۟ وَتُصْلِحُوا۟ بَيْنَ ٱلنَّاسِ وَٱللَّهُ سَمِيعٌ عَلِيمٌ
And do not make God, through your oaths, an obstacle to your being good and mindful of Him and setting things right between people. And God is Hearing, Knowing. An oath was being used as a reason to persist in a wrong, and the ayah refuses to let the oath carry that weight.
اور اللہ کو اپنی قسموں کی وجہ سے نیکی کرنے، تقویٰ اختیار کرنے اور لوگوں کے درمیان صلح کرانے میں رکاوٹ مت بناؤ۔ اور اللہ خوب سننے والا، خوب جاننے والا ہے۔ ایک قسم کو کسی غلط بات پر ڈٹے رہنے کے بہانے کے طور پر استعمال کیا جا رہا تھا، اور یہ آیت قسم کو یہ بوجھ اٹھانے کی اجازت دینے سے انکار کرتی ہے۔
