تِلْكَ ٱلرُّسُلُ فَضَّلْنَا بَعْضَهُمْ عَلَىٰ بَعْضٍ مِّنْهُم مَّن كَلَّمَ ٱللَّهُ وَرَفَعَ بَعْضَهُمْ دَرَجَٰتٍ وَءَاتَيْنَا عِيسَى ٱبْنَ مَرْيَمَ ٱلْبَيِّنَٰتِ وَأَيَّدْنَٰهُ بِرُوحِ ٱلْقُدُسِ وَلَوْ شَآءَ ٱللَّهُ مَا ٱقْتَتَلَ ٱلَّذِينَ مِنۢ بَعْدِهِم مِّنۢ بَعْدِ مَا جَآءَتْهُمُ ٱلْبَيِّنَٰتُ وَلَٰكِنِ ٱخْتَلَفُوا۟ فَمِنْهُم مَّنْ ءَامَنَ وَمِنْهُم مَّن كَفَرَ وَلَوْ شَآءَ ٱللَّهُ مَا ٱقْتَتَلُوا۟ وَلَٰكِنَّ ٱللَّهَ يَفْعَلُ مَا يُرِيدُ
Those messengers: We favoured some of them above others. Among them was one God spoke to, and some He raised in rank. And We gave Jesus son of Mary the clear proofs, and strengthened him with the Holy Spirit. And had God willed, those who came after them would not have fought one another after the clear proofs had come to them - but they differed: some of them believed and some refused. And had God willed they would not have fought - but God does what He intends.
یہ رسول ہیں، ہم نے ان میں سے بعض کو بعض پر فضیلت دی۔ ان میں سے کسی سے اللہ نے کلام کیا، اور بعض کے درجات بلند کیے۔ اور ہم نے مریم کے بیٹے عیسیٰ کو واضح دلائل دیے اور روح القدس کے ذریعے اس کی تائید کی۔ اور اگر اللہ چاہتا تو ان کے بعد آنے والے، واضح دلائل آ جانے کے بعد، آپس میں نہ لڑتے — لیکن انہوں نے اختلاف کیا، تو ان میں سے کچھ ایمان لائے اور کچھ نے کفر کیا۔ اور اگر اللہ چاہتا تو وہ نہ لڑتے، لیکن اللہ جو چاہتا ہے کرتا ہے۔
