مَّثَلُ ٱلَّذِينَ يُنفِقُونَ أَمْوَٰلَهُمْ فِى سَبِيلِ ٱللَّهِ كَمَثَلِ حَبَّةٍ أَنۢبَتَتْ سَبْعَ سَنَابِلَ فِى كُلِّ سُنۢبُلَةٍ مِّا۟ئَةُ حَبَّةٍ وَٱللَّهُ يُضَٰعِفُ لِمَن يَشَآءُ وَٱللَّهُ وَٰسِعٌ عَلِيمٌ
The likeness of those who spend their wealth in the way of God is that of a grain that grows seven ears, in every ear a hundred grains. And God multiplies for whom He wills; and God is All-Encompassing, Knowing. The image is agricultural: what is given is not spent but planted.
جو لوگ اپنا مال اللہ کی راہ میں خرچ کرتے ہیں ان کی مثال اس دانے کی سی ہے جس سے سات بالیاں اگیں، ہر بالی میں سو دانے ہوں۔ اور اللہ جسے چاہے کئی گنا بڑھا دیتا ہے، اور اللہ وسعت والا، خوب جاننے والا ہے۔ یہ تصویر کھیتی باڑی کی ہے: جو دیا جاتا ہے وہ خرچ نہیں ہوتا بلکہ بویا جاتا ہے۔
