لِلْفُقَرَآءِ ٱلَّذِينَ أُحْصِرُوا۟ فِى سَبِيلِ ٱللَّهِ لَا يَسْتَطِيعُونَ ضَرْبًا فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ يَحْسَبُهُمُ ٱلْجَاهِلُ أَغْنِيَآءَ مِنَ ٱلتَّعَفُّفِ تَعْرِفُهُم بِسِيمَٰهُمْ لَا يَسْـَٔلُونَ ٱلنَّاسَ إِلْحَافًا وَمَا تُنفِقُوا۟ مِنْ خَيْرٍ فَإِنَّ ٱللَّهَ بِهِۦ عَلِيمٌ
It is for the poor who are held back in the way of God, unable to travel about the land - whom someone who does not know supposes to be well off, because of their restraint. You will know them by their mark: they do not press people for anything. And whatever good you spend, truly God knows it. The people meant are the hardest ones to find, because the thing that makes them needy is also what keeps them quiet.
یہ صدقہ ان غریبوں کے لیے ہے جو اللہ کی راہ میں روک لیے گئے ہیں، زمین میں چل پھر نہیں سکتے۔ ناواقف انہیں ان کی خودداری کی وجہ سے مالدار سمجھتا ہے۔ آپ انہیں ان کی علامت سے پہچان لیں گے، وہ لوگوں سے چمٹ کر نہیں مانگتے۔ اور تم جو بھی بھلائی خرچ کرو، بےشک اللہ اسے جانتا ہے۔ جن لوگوں کی بات ہو رہی ہے وہ ڈھونڈنا سب سے مشکل ہیں، کیونکہ جو چیز انہیں محتاج بناتی ہے وہی چیز انہیں خاموش بھی رکھتی ہے۔
