وَإِن كُنتُمْ عَلَىٰ سَفَرٍ وَلَمْ تَجِدُوا۟ كَاتِبًا فَرِهَٰنٌ مَّقْبُوضَةٌ فَإِنْ أَمِنَ بَعْضُكُم بَعْضًا فَلْيُؤَدِّ ٱلَّذِى ٱؤْتُمِنَ أَمَٰنَتَهُۥ وَلْيَتَّقِ ٱللَّهَ رَبَّهُۥ وَلَا تَكْتُمُوا۟ ٱلشَّهَٰدَةَ وَمَن يَكْتُمْهَا فَإِنَّهُۥٓ ءَاثِمٌ قَلْبُهُۥ وَٱللَّهُ بِمَا تَعْمَلُونَ عَلِيمٌ
And if you are on a journey and cannot find a scribe, then a pledge taken in hand. But if one of you entrusts another, then let the one who is trusted deliver up his trust, and let him be mindful of God his Lord. And do not conceal testimony - whoever conceals it, his heart is sinful. And God knows what you do. Where the paper cannot be had, something is held instead; and where nothing is held at all, what secures it is the fear of God.
اور اگر تم سفر پر ہو اور کوئی لکھنے والا نہ پاؤ تو کوئی گروی چیز قبضے میں لے لو۔ پھر اگر تم میں سے کوئی کسی دوسرے پر بھروسا کر لے تو جس پر بھروسا کیا گیا ہے وہ اپنی امانت ادا کر دے، اور اللہ سے ڈرے جو اس کا رب ہے۔ اور گواہی مت چھپاؤ؛ اور جو اسے چھپائے تو بےشک اس کا دل گنہگار ہے۔ اور اللہ جو کچھ تم کرتے ہو اسے جانتا ہے۔ جہاں کاغذ میسر نہ ہو، وہاں کوئی چیز پکڑ کر رکھی جاتی ہے؛ اور جہاں کچھ بھی نہ پکڑا جائے، وہاں اسے اللہ کا خوف محفوظ رکھتا ہے۔
