أَتَأْمُرُونَ ٱلنَّاسَ بِٱلْبِرِّ وَتَنسَوْنَ أَنفُسَكُمْ وَأَنتُمْ تَتْلُونَ ٱلْكِتَٰبَ أَفَلَا تَعْقِلُونَ
Do you order people to do right and forget yourselves, while you are reciting the Book? Have you no sense? This is addressed to the scholars among them - men who were reciting the very Book that warns against saying what you do not do.
کیا تم لوگوں کو نیکی کا حکم دیتے ہو اور اپنے آپ کو بھول جاتے ہو، حالانکہ تم کتاب پڑھتے ہو؟ کیا تم عقل نہیں رکھتے؟ یہ خطاب ان کے علماء سے ہے — وہی لوگ جو اسی کتاب کی تلاوت کر رہے تھے جو یہ کہنے سے منع کرتی ہے جو خود نہ کیا جائے۔
